So, do you podcast?
I didn’t listen to my first podcast until 2020. On June 12, 2020, Andy Stumpf, a former CrossFit employee, released a new episode of his Cleared Hot Podcast entitled “Full Auto Friday – Round 5.” It was about the fall of CrossFit. This was the catalyst to Greg Glassman being forced to resign and sell the company he had built.
Shocked, I could not hit pause. I remember, cleaning my kitchen, walking around thinking, “Jesus, the sport I love, the founder of this incredible, life changing movement is a racist misogynist who created and facilitated an unacceptable climate for employees. especially women.”
For some reason, I didn’t listen to another podcast until the spring of 2021, when I was at an all-time low. Little did I know that these women would help me get through some of my darkest days as a mom, wife, and person.
We Can Do Hard Things
Life Changing
Glennon Doyle’s podcast is everything a woman needs, a mother needs. I am so grateful my sister introduced me to this twice weekly therapy session.
Glennon, Sister (Amanda), & Abby along with their guests have helped me get through the most unbearable of times over the past 7 months.
Take it from me, their voices make sense. They speak to me. I feel like I’m not going crazy as I listen to their words while walking Hunter and Zeus through our “neighborhood.”
In the words of Glennon, “On We Can Do Hard Things, my sister Amanda and I will do the only thing I’ve found that has ever made life easier: We will drop the fake and talk honestly about the hard. Each week we will bring our hard to you and we will ask you to bring your hard to us and we will do what we were all meant to do down here: Help each other carry the hard so we can all live a little bit lighter and braver, more free and less alone”
“We will drop the fake and talk honestly about the hard.” And they do. And I am so thankful they do.
If you stumble upon the We Can Do Hard Things Podcast and you don’t know where to start – start from the beginning and take it, one episode at a time.
