I lived such a regimented, routine-based life up until June 24, 2021.
That day my life changed, changed forever.
I know you are asking yourself, “what happened on that ONE day?”
And ONE day I will share that part of our life, really share, what happened on June 24, 2021.
Today is not that day.
Me Time
What does that even look like these days?
Well, it’s some combination of long walks with our dogs, reading, podcasts, and some type of fitness.
Walkings with my Boys – Ultimate sense of peace when I walk around our “neighborhood” with Hunter & Zeus. The two best rescue dogs in the world.
Reading – I have so many books in my Kindle Library to dive into. Honestly, it’s completely overwhelming. Do you have tips for organizing all of the books, stories, blogs etc., that you want to read? Help me.
Podcasts – I never thought I’d love podcasts as much as I do. If you are hesitant, take the leap. Just do it.
Fitness – I used to never miss more than one or two workouts a week. Now I laugh at that mentality. Truth be told, I work out 3-5 times a week, max these days. Fitness consists of Peloton rides, boxing classes, metcons, and random lifting.
I have no plan. No routine. No set goals. I haven’t since June 24th.
I need a change.
That change starts today.
Let’s Start with the Basics: The Equipment
Yes – the title of this post is about routines & accountability.
But what equipment do I have access to?
I could say we are fortunate to have a full CrossFit Garage Gym as well as a Peloton.
We are not fortunate.
We are a dual income family. Fortunately, the pandemic didn’t affect our jobs.
We save. Well, #DIYDave is Mr. Financial and has rubbed off on me over the years.
We saved and planned out the garage gym before our house was built.
Prior to investing in our gym, we were spending $400/month on CrossFit Memberships. Yup, I know.
This gym was going to pay for itself in no time.
I had a budget, and you’d better believe I used every single penny of that budget to furnish our space.

So, My Routine? Let’s Break It Down
I work roughly 25-30 hours a week (sometimes more).
I have two elementary school-aged kiddos.
Both of my kids participate in afterschool activities/sports.
My husband works 75 minutes from our house and leaves by 6:30AM 4 days a week. Not to mention he wears the hat of “Coach” for Bobby & Kinsley as well.
My NEW Fitness Routine:
2-3x/week: “General Cycle” Oly w/ Short Peloton Ride (45-75 Minutes)
2x/week: Sister Peloton Ride (45 Minutes)
1x/week: Boxing (30 Minutes)
Rest Days. All of the Rest Days
What do you envision for yourself?
What works for me, may not work for you.
Find activities you love, that challenge you, that pull your out of your comfort zone.
You will thank me later for that last one.
Accountability, Who’s In??
Who wants to be my accountability buddy?
Have you ever had one?
I don’t need someone to check-in with me on a daily basis. I need someone to share.
To share the ups and downs, the realities of life (hello working moms).
Does this sound like something that would be of an interest to you?
Thank you for being a part of this journey.
